It is believed that the Palm Pre could be available from March on a Sprint cellular network. However, this device will not be available immediately in all stores after its launch. Palm revealed the power of Pre on the previous month’s Consumer Electronics Show. However, the pricing of this device is still kept a secret. It is believed that the device can rule the cellular market and may rule out all other highly advanced pad phones, if the price of this device is affordable. The Palm Pre is sleek in design with 3.1-inch touchscreen display, which has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. In addition, this device has a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out in a downward direction. The phone also comes with accelerometers for switching the windows smart phone from portrait mode to landscape mode and vice-versa for widescreen browsing. Palm claims that the Palm Pre is similar to laptop with respect to speed and power, as it runs on a new TI OMAP CPU and a new webOS operating system. It is integrated with Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Rev. A that features uninterrupted connectivity anywhere around the world. This device comes with built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0. The Palm Pre comes with 8GB of phone memory to store office documents and multimedia files. In addition, this device has a 3-megapixel camera with flash to capture stills of high quality. It is believed that the phone is equipped with many unknown features such as capability to integrate contacts from the phone’s address book into Gmail, Outlook Exchange, Facebook and other websites. According to Palm, this Smartphone will only be available with Sprint for first six months. The firm is still planning to announce details regarding the pricing and releasing dates of Palm Pre.

Ages ago, I found out it would cost nearly what I paid to fix the analog board in my eMac . Over $500 to repair a refurbished machine I only spent $599 on in the first place was folly, so it sat broken on my floor until last week. But what’s this? Apple announced a warranty repair extension for the eMac when it shows no video! Since it was a refurb, I couldn’t verify against the serial numbers listed on the extension page , so I had to bring it in to the Genius Bar. They told me that my machine didn’t fall in the range. Crap.

Later in the day, we’re at Sam’s Club, and I spot a Samsung 17” monitor for $199, and the plan begins a-brewin’. I’m going to convert the CRT eMac to an LCD monitor, which will allow me to bypass and remove the faulty Analog Board completely.

The eMac is no longer a doorstop, and it only cost my $200 plus a few hours of time. The machine is about 30 pounds lighter, and won’t use as much electricity. Some have asked why I went LCD rather than replacing the CRT with the guts from a 17” monitor. This would have been more complicated — I would have had to remove the analog board still, and added a power supply for the computer. CRT monitors are hotter and heavier. LCD monitor was just a better choice for a machine that didn’t require perfect color. Others have asked if I will change the form factor, making it slimmer. If that were the goal, I should just buy a used iMac, right?

Charging the Battery

NOTE: With Dell? ExpressCharge?, when the computer is turned off,universal notebook battery, the AC adapter charges a completely discharged Dell 1300 battery to 80 percent in about 1 hour and to 100 percent in approximately 2 hours. Charge time is longer with the computer turned on. You can leave the battery in the computer for as long as you like. The battery’s internal circuitry prevents the battery from overcharging.

Despite the high level of sophistication in today’s GPS technology, there is something that GPS devices are lacking: quality off-road mapping. As long as you stay on the road, your GPS device can help you get to any destination, but as soon as you veer off into an unmapped area with no roads, you are on your own. Or rather, you were.

The Denver-based digital mapping company Intermap Technologies recently launched its new iPhone application, AccuTerra, which allows users to view maps of U.S. national and state parks whether they are on- or off-line. Hikers and outdoors adventurers now have a possibly life-saving tool at their disposal that will guide them to where they need to go, even when on foot and far into a wilderness area. With its easy-to-use interface and performance, it’s no wonder that Intermap’s AccuTerra received an Apple Design Award for best iPhone OS 3.0 Beta Application at the 2009 Apple Design Awards. cheap bluetooth gps

Apple praised Intermap’s application for its usability, performance, technology integration and adoption. AccuTerra fulfils a need left by GPS systems lack of off-road mapping. Concerning this topic, Kevin Thomas, vice president of marketing at Intermap, stated that while GPS does a great job on the road, it becomes useless once you get to the end of the pavement. AccuTerra has a varied collection of available maps that include sate forests and national parks for each individual state. These include popular hiking and biking trails.

AccuTerra works perfectly even in the most remote trails or forests, since it does not require a wireless connection, so regardless of weather or place, you can find your way with this app. AccuTerra displays a users distance from the nearest roads, trails, rivers and warming huts. You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.

The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.

CECT updates its P168 iPhone clone and launches the P168C, which adds support for GSM 850,1800,1900MHz network frequency. Like the CECT P168, the new CECT P168C has a 3-inch LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera, integrated media player that supports MP3 and MPEG4 playback, a microSD card slot and Bluetooth.

The CECT P168C has dual SIM card slot.

The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

There have been so many upgrades, variations, and versions of the original best selling CECT P168 iClone that it can make a consumer dizzy. First, they added the 850 MHZ band to make the original tri band into a quad band phone. They also upgraded the firm ware and digital camera.

Then, they added shake and tilt to these clones. (A popular example of this is the HiPhone i32.)

Not long after ONDA dropped the widescreen VX747, it’s also introducing a tastier-looking successor, the VX757. This new PMP has a rather odd display configuration: 16:10 aspect ration. We know wide screen is 16:9, but what is 16:10? Obviously ONDA has some explaining why they are supporting the same aspect ratio as Apple Cinema HD, and we’d get you all the juicy details once it comes in. The details for now are as follows: 3.0-inch touch screen like the VX747, RM / RMVB/ APE / FLAC, support for 32GB SD card.

Well i was having an issue with converting this file, thats why it took me so long to upload it, even though i made it a few days ago.

Anyways, here is the new Onda VX777LE, as you can see from the video review, it really is a totally different player from the VX777, it still has the nice look, but its entire UI is different.

The player does use the RK2706 chipset and much of the UI is similar to that of the Nationite S:Flo, it is however not as slick as the S:Flo, the UI is cruder, the touch screen is resistive and although i won’t say its very sensitive or not very responsive, it does at times make the UI harder to use.

I think people will like this player because the UI is easier to use, it does allow for better use of the music player and it will be priced under $90 when it comes out.

Well as you can see it looks like all their other players, so what has this to offer??

Well those are the major points at the moment, the other big thing is the chip being used, now i think this one bucks the latest Onda trend for the new ChinaChip system in favour of a rockchip, as to which rockchip … i dont know, cold be the standard 2707/8 or their newer 2711B thing, this was not stated but if it is the older 2707/8 then all this screen beauty is lost as the player will not be able to play movie files to match the screen res!!! .. we will have to wait and see on that one, but the fact the player does not have the HD tage after the name may mean its the older gen rockchips

A few weeks ago we were sent a JawboneBluetooth headset from PureMobile.ca to try out and review. Since John just got a new Blackberry from work and he's on the go all day I had him try it out, and we used it several times during phone calls.

My first impressions were that it certainly does not look as obnoxious as the first generation of Bluetooth headsets. The Jawbone is really small and unless you do a double-take it may be mistaken for an ear piece or Earring - not a mini mobile phone strapped to your head.

The sound quality is really great, in fact I could barely tell the difference between talking to John on his handset or when he was using the Jawbone. Having something hands-free is also very handy for driving as fumbling with a cell phone (since we can never miss that call) is dangerous on the road.

"It may be a bit tricky to figure out how it works at first but it's very stealthy. There are no physical buttons - the whole thing is a button, "John noted. "The LED looks cool and the charger is pretty sweet since it's magnetic (MagSafe).

"It does not feel like it's going to stay on my head - it's loose fitting which is very good but can also be bad depending on the person you are," commented John although I know he's pretty Fickler when it comes to Earbuds and headphones as well. "It does not feel like it's stapled to your head and it does not feel like your suffocating," adding that it was a nice balance.

He said he did worry that the audio was not loud enough, which again can be a good thing or a bad thing (you do not want to blow your ear out) and the sound quality was great on audio calls.

At first glance, LG's new Watch Phone appears to simply be a high-end timepiece. The company used materials and stylistic elements found in watches from top manufacturers to ensure that people will be comfortable wearing it for any occasion. My first thought as the sure others will agree is that the phone must be an amazing eye sore with so many high end features however as you can see it is actually beautifully crafted. I had it at around 3 or 4 times the size after first reading about it but LG have once again outdone themselves and the competition. The watch phones elegance comes from it's curved tempered glass face, high quality metal casing and slight frame which is a mere 13.9mm thick.

It is the first touch watch phone in the world to feature 7.2 Mbps 3G HSDPA compatibility, enabling high-speed data transmission and video phone calls using the built-in camera. LG did not sacrifice functionality in favor of size and the Watch Phone is fully capable of sending text messages (via a virtual keyboard T9), making phone calls, and, of course, keeping accurate time. This is all achieved using the phone's touchscreen interface on its 3.63cm (1.43-inch) screen and LG's intuitive Flash interface.

Voice recognition features, which can be used with or without a Bluetooth headset, make it easier to place calls and look up contacts. Text to Speech (TTS) reads text messages and other information out loud for even greater convenience. The phone also includes stereo Bluetooth and a built-in speaker for playing back MP3 player watch files. On the right side of the watch are three buttons: The Talk, Clear and End buttons, respectively which is obviously similar to most LG handsets on today's market.

The phone will be available in Europe at the end of this year. It'll be available in a range of colors, from black and silver to blue, red and even pink. Orange will be the first to bring the Watch Phone across its European footprint later this year however pricing is still yet to be announced, I imagine this is due to the lack of knowledge concerning the final features that will be available on the device.
